Værhed creates conversations between people.
We design different settings where people who don't necessarily know each other can meet and talk.
Sometimes around a shared meal. Other times through questions, themes and facilitation.
The settings vary. What matters most is what happens between the people who gather.
We want to make it ordinary for us to know one another
With Værhed, we want to contribute to a society where more people feel that they belong – and where we take a greater interest in one another.
We believe something valuable can happen when we meet people we wouldn't have sought out ourselves. Hearing another person's story, meeting each other with curiosity, and discovering that we may have something to give one another.
That's why Værhed starts with something concrete: making it easier to sit down together and have a conversation. Our hope is that over time, these meetings create greater understanding, a stronger sense of belonging, and a genuine desire to take part in each other's lives.

Three ways to experience Værhed
Værhed takes different forms. You can gather informally over a meal, join a facilitated conversation evening, or take part in a series of three evenings exploring different themes.
Værhed – At the Table
30–50 people · shared meal · informal
We gather around a single meal with people we don't necessarily know beforehand.
There are no exercises or set discussion topics. Værhed creates the setting and brings the tables together. The rest emerges naturally between those who come.
The meal is the frame. The conversation is the experience.

Værhed Conversation Workshop

Here we give conversation more time and dive deeper.
Over three evenings, the same group explores different themes, questions and perspectives. Værhed facilitates and creates the frame, but the conversations emerge from the participants.

What is Værhed?
Some of the best conversations happen with people we didn't know before.
That's the starting point for Værhed.
Værhed describes a state that can arise when people feel safe enough to be present, be open, and meet each other with genuine curiosity.
A sense of presence, openness and connection between people.
We can't decide which conversations will happen. But we can create better conditions for them to occur.
That's what Værhed works with.
The place is part of the experience
Værhed doesn't have one fixed location.
A Værhed event can take place in a cultural center, a gallery, a business, an old factory, or somewhere entirely different.
The space is one of the tools we use to create the right atmosphere and good conditions for conversation.
That's why no two Værhed events need to look the same.

Who is behind Værhed?
Hi, my name is Henrik Sidenius.
When I moved to Odense, I wanted to create new opportunities for people to meet – including people who didn't know each other beforehand.
Part of my inspiration comes from my experiences walking the Camino.
There, I experienced again and again how conversations between people could emerge naturally. You didn't necessarily know each other's stories, yet openness, curiosity and good conversations could develop quickly.
This made me wonder:
Can you create some of those same conditions at home?
That became the beginning of Værhed.
Today I'm developing Værhed and the different settings that can help good conversations happen.
I create the frame and invite people in.
But what matters most happens between those who come.
